Get Ready to Bare It All: Helsinki’s 12th Annual Cyclonudista Is Coming!
Hey cycling enthusiasts and freedom lovers! Mark your calendars because the most liberating event of the year is back! As the organizing team that’s been promoting this event for years, we’re thrilled to announce that Helsinki’s 12th Annual Cyclonudista will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025!
For those who don’t know, Cyclonudista (part of the World Naked Bike Ride movement) is that one magical day of summer when we strip down, hop on our bikes, and reclaim Helsinki’s streets from gas-guzzling vehicles. It’s not just about showing skin—it’s a powerful statement against pollution, car culture, and oil dependency while celebrating cycling, nature, and the beautiful human form.

What’s Happening in 2025?
This July, we’re planning our biggest ride yet! Here’s the schedule for our day of freedom:
🕒 15:00 – Meet at Varsapuistikko (near the Railway Station and Kaisaniemenpuisto) for a pre-ride picnic. Bring snacks, drinks, and get to know your fellow riders!
🎨 15:30 – Body painting extravaganza! Express yourself through color and create your personal message to share with Helsinki.
🚴 16:00 – Wheels up! We’ll depart promptly and cycle through Helsinki’s beautiful streets. Our route is designed to maximize visibility (pun intended) and impact.
🏊 18:00 – Cool-off swim to end our day of liberating activism.

Why We Keep Organizing This Event Year After Year
Every time we see our colorful parade of naked cyclists stream through the streets of Helsinki, we’re reminded of why this matters. Cars have dominated our urban spaces for too long. The smell of exhaust has replaced the scent of summer flowers. Oil companies continue to prioritize profits over our planet.
But for one glorious day, we take it all back. We show that human-powered transportation is not just possible—it’s joyful! We demonstrate that the human body isn’t something to be ashamed of. Together, we create a memory that lasts throughout the year. This memory reminds everyone who sees us that another way of mobility is possible.

What to Bring
- Your beautiful self (obviously!)
- A bicycle (rent the affordable Helsinki City Bikes if you need it)
- A smile (essential!)
- Body paint, decorations, or costumes (optional but encouraged)
- Musical instruments if you’re musically inclined
- Camera (there will be plenty worth capturing!)
- Picnic supplies
- Towel for after-swim drying
- A spirit of adventure!

Is Nudity Required?
Absolutely not! While the spirit of the event embraces body freedom, you decide your comfort level. Some participants go fully nude, others wear underwear, body paint, or creative costumes. The point is to join the protest, however you feel comfortable doing so.
This Movement Is Growing!
What started in 2004 with cyclists in 29 cities has blossomed into a global movement spanning more than 70 cities worldwide. Helsinki has proudly been part of this tradition, and 2025 marks our 12th consecutive year!
Remember, this event has no formal leadership or bureaucracy—it belongs to all of us. You’re not just invited to participate; you’re invited to take ownership and help shape what Cyclonudista becomes.

Photography Welcome
As a public event held in city streets, Cyclonudista inevitably attracts photographers, journalists, and fellow participants with cameras. By joining our ride, you acknowledge and accept that your image may be captured and shared on social media, news outlets, websites, and various platforms worldwide. We celebrate this visibility as it helps spread our message! If you participate, please understand that your photos may appear online and in print—it’s simply part of the event’s nature. We view this exposure positively and ask all participants to embrace the public nature of our joyful protest.
Let’s show Helsinki what freedom really looks like! Because sometimes, the best way to deliver a message is to bare it all.
Who’s with us?
P.S. Don’t forget to share this post with friends who might want to join. The more, the merrier—and the stronger our message becomes!
